Eastern Iowa artist Brian Parr’s landscapes have a unique feel in the modern world, his pieces have more in common with the Barbizon school than any current artist or movement. Born in Marengo, Iowa in 1961 Parr has been involved in different aspects of art since he was in high school. He is known in his hometown for his large wood chainsaw and chisel sculptures, some over 10 feet tall. A self-taught artist, Parr regards en plein air painting as the best instruction.
